More from this project
Al Shahbandar (بقالة الشاهبندر) is a grocery business in Egypt that wanted to take orders online. The store covers everyday supermarket ranges, including mineral water, frozen foods, fresh vegetables, bakery, dried foods and nuts, detergents and cleaning products, with all prices in Egyptian pounds.
The challenge
Grocery shoppers buy many small items at once and return weekly, so the store had to make browsing by aisle fast, keep search prominent and show delivery and return terms before checkout. It also had to work in Arabic from right to left and feel like a local neighbourhood shop rather than a generic template.
What we built
- Search-first header: a category-filtered search bar, wishlist, cart and account icons, and a red navigation bar for home, shop, about and contact.
- Branded hero slider: a fresh-produce basket under the Al Shahbandar name, the line best goods at the lowest prices, and an exclusive discounts badge.
- Category grid and top categories of the month: photo tiles for each aisle and a second row highlighting fresh meat, dairy, fruit, vegetables and seafood.
- Service promises: free delivery on orders over 300 EGP, returns within 48 hours for faulty goods, 100% secure payment and 24/7 support.
- Offers and deals: promo banners such as fish up to 25% off and pineapple juice at 59 EGP, a daily deals carousel with ratings and stock status, and a top-20 bestsellers list.
- Product grid and footer: a product listing with ratings, prices and out-of-stock labels, a newsletter signup and links to terms, returns and FAQ pages.
Result
The client received a complete Arabic grocery storefront with aisle-based browsing, prominent search and delivery terms stated on the homepage. The structure was ready for the shop’s own catalogue and offers to be loaded and rotated weekly.
